Events are not posts.

Out of the box, custom post types share their capabilities with posts. Whoever may edit “Events” inevitably may edit posts as well. Here you can separate the two: the type gets capabilities of its own, and the capability matrix shows them in a group of their own.

FAQ about post types

Does the section vanish when I switch it on?
It shouldn’t: every role that held the matching post capability receives the new one right along with it. If it is gone anyway, the role was missing that post capability beforehand.
Why must this be set so early?
Because WordPress fixes a post type’s capability mapping when it is registered. Setting it later would be too late, which is why the switch hangs on register_post_type_args.
What if my installation has no custom types?
Then the section stands empty and says so. As soon as a theme or plugin registers a type, it appears here.
