FAQ about roles

Why can’t I delete “Administrator”?
Because after that nobody would reach the admin area any more — not even this page. For the same reason manage_options cannot be taken away from your only own role.
What happens to the users of a deleted role?
They move to the role you name when deleting. Without that they would hold a role that no longer exists, and would be allowed nothing at all.
Do my roles survive without the plugin?
Yes. Roles and capabilities live in wp_user_roles — an option belonging to WordPress, not to this plugin. Even the cleanup on uninstall leaves them alone.
