FAQ about Content Credentials (C2PA)

Does C2PA automatically mean “AI”?

No, and that is precisely the point. Content Credentials also record that an image came from a camera. Only the digital source statement says whether generative AI was involved.

Do you verify the signature computationally?

No. The plugin reads who the certificate names as the signer, and says so in those words. Whether the signature is mathematically valid, it does not check.

And if the block is damaged?

Then the finding says so. Character strings found in the raw block are named, but only as a strong indication, not as evidence.
