Why only the level with evidence out of the box?

Because putting a guess on public display would feign exactly the certainty this plugin cannot produce. Anyone who wants to mark more turns it on deliberately.

Does the badge change my image?

No. It is a piece of markup next to the image in the page’s HTML. The image file stays untouched.

Does it work in every theme?

It hooks into the image block, the featured image and the content. Themes that output images quite differently need a point to attach to — for that, the badge can be called from the theme template.
